“Hare today, gone tomorrow” for courser’s car

In a lovely story from the Peterborough Telegraph from earlier this week, we see a four-wheel drive vehicle worth several thousand pounds being crushed by the police after its owners were convicted in relation to hare coursing offences.

This sends a clear message to the people of Cambridgeshire that the police will not tolerate illegal bloodsports, and we applaud the force for taking such firm action.

It’s worth remembering, though, that hare coursing becomes legal again if the Hunting Act is repealed. If you haven’t already, please sign up to our campaign to Keep Cruelty History.

This is right up my street – and quite close to my area (which is South East Cambridgeshire) – and I couldn’t be more pleased by what Cambridgeshire Police did to these people and to their car. I would have done more, but I am a happy at the sight of that smashed Subaru. Bearing in mind that the Conservatives may bring ‘legal’ hare coursing, along with fox hunting, can I ask readers, please, to sign my NoToHareCoursing E-Petition at –
