The passion of local campaigners

Our Head of Campaigns & Communications writes:

I am on the last train from Nottingham to London after attending the Annual General Meeting of our East Midlands Local Support Group.

The East Midlands Group is one of our best established, most supported, and exceptionally well run. It draws supporters from across the region, and is active at local, national and regional events.

I attended tonight’s meeting to give the Group’s members an update on our Keep Cruelty History campaign, the forthcoming general election, and exciting changes at the League which began with our new logo and website last month. It’s true to say that I was challenged on a number of points, and that can only ever be a good thing; we ask a lot of our local groups, and connecting with them and listening to what they have to say is an essential part of what we do at Head Office. What’s clear is that they are energised, excited and ready for the challenges that lie ahead.
